Lead Technical Consultant

TV is where it all started for us, but we’re rapidly expanding into the IoT (Internet of Things) space and will make some exciting announcements there soon.

As a Merapar Lead Technical Consultant you will work closely with our clients and development teams to deliver innovative software that provides genuine business value. What you will do:

  • Lead the specification, design and delivery of cutting edge distributed software systems
  • Engage at a senior level with our clients, becoming a trusted and valued partner
  • Build relationships and drive new sales opportunities
  • Coach and motivate others in the team, listen and share knowledge
  • Act as a bridge between our development teams and clients, often technical to non-technical
  • Manage project scope, risks and influence priorities
  • Make sure the functional and non-functional requirements are met and the right level of documentation is in place
  • Learn new technologies and design patterns, introducing them to projects where appropriate

You should have:

  • Substantial experience as a software architect in an Agile environment in Media or Broadcast
  • Hands-on experience in at least one technology area (e.g. development, operations, testing)
  • In-depth cloud knowledge, preferably AWS
  • A strong understanding of security, scalability and resilience
  • The ability to identify and solve problems and work with minimal guidance and direction
  • An open-mind and a natural curiosity for new technologies
  • Excellent knowledge of English with first-rate verbal and written communication skills
  • Ideally published blog posts and/or contributed to open source projects
  • Familiarity with Continuous Delivery would be beneficial


  • This is a full time position based in the UK. Because we do not (yet) have a London office, you should be able to work from home but prepared to commute to central London on a daily basis when required
  • You should be prepared to travel within the UK and Europe and be prepared to work on-site at the client’s premises if the assignment requires it
