Moving towards a more sustainable way of working
Our approach
We recognize that sustainability is a journey rather than a fixed goal. As a technology company, we are becoming more aware of our environmental impact and are taking steps to make responsible choices in how we operate. Our focus is on reducing emissions, improving energy efficiency, and making conscious decisions about the resources we use.
We don’t claim to have all the answers, but we are committed to learning, adapting, and improving over time. That is in our DNA. Our sustainability efforts are guided by practicality, finding ways to reduce our footprint while maintaining the flexibility and efficiency that define how we work.
What we are doing ...
Our approach is built on three key pillars
Energy efficiency & smarter operations
- We design software that runs in cloud environments, benefiting from large-scale efficiency improvements in energy use.
- Our offices in the Netherlands and Poland have implemented measures such as LED lighting, modern heating systems, and smart building management to reduce unnecessary energy consumption.
- We have started shifting towards renewable energy, with our Netherlands office now running on 100% renewable electricity (solar panels) and our Poland office using 59% renewable energy.
Reducing emissions & encouraging sustainable mobility
- We aim to reduce unnecessary business travel by relying more on virtual meetings. When travel is needed, we prioritize lower-impact options such as trains where possible.
- Employees are encouraged to use public transport, carpool, or cycle to work. In the UK and our dutch office, we offer a cycle-to-work scheme.
- Our company car fleet in Belgium is now fully electric or hybrid, and we have installed 14 electric vehicle charging stations at our Dutch office. Also in the UK we offer our employees the possibility to have an electric car.
Resource use & waste reduction
- We minimize paper use by working digitally, using DocuSign for contracts and cloud storage for documentation.
- Across our offices, we separate waste streams and actively reduce plastic consumption, including installing smart water taps to limit bottled water usage.
- We take sustainability into account when working with suppliers and prefer responsible sourcing where possible.
Ongoing efforts & continuous learning
We know that sustainability is an ongoing process, and we are committed to making realistic improvements over time. We have established a Sustainability Working Group to explore new initiatives, and we regularly assess our progress through frameworks such as the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP). In February 2025, we received a CDP SME B rating. We don’t claim to be perfect, but we believe that consistent, practical steps, rather than big promises, will make the biggest difference in the long run.
